Postgraduate Fellowship Course: TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND THE
FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION
We are pleased to send you information about the Postgraduate
Fellowship Course on Transparency, Accountability and the Fight
against Corruption (Diploma de Postítulo en Transparencia,
Accountability y Lucha contra la Corrupción), organized by the Human
Rights Center (Centro de Derechos Humanos – CDH) of the University of
Chile's Law School. This capacity-building program, which will take
place from 10 March to 25 July 2008, will combine online teaching (17
weeks) with classroom-based teaching and other academic activities
(two weeks at the beginning and one week at the end of the course), in
Santiago de Chile. The program, designed to train Latin American

The application for the 2008 session of the annual Human Rights
Advocates Program (HRAP) at Columbia
University is now available. I would like to take this opportunity to
ask you to disseminate this information and
application to human rights activists based in the Global South as
well as grassroots activists in the United States.
HRAP is designed to prepare proven human rights leaders from the
Global South and marginalized communities in
the U.S. to participate in national and international policy debates
on globalization by building their skills,
knowledge, and contacts. The Program features a four-month residency
at Columbia University in New York City
with a structured curriculum of advocacy, networking, skills-building,
and academic coursework.

The search for the Oak Fellowship for Human Rights at Colby College for Fall 2008 will be for a journalist working to promote human rights. The OAK fellowship offers a semester in residence at Colby, giving respite from front line human rights work, a $32K stipend, plus medical insurance, transportation, housing and utilities.
